I've been reading the comments on youtube and all... and I have to say 3 things:

An artist can negotiate what he/she THINKS will help them out in the long run (as means to $$$ or longevity in the game). But if they don't take the high precautions of things they will ultimately fuck themselves, seriously. I mean, if you can't have a contract to fit your needs then it's always MOVE ON to the nxt one. Cuz if they want you to meet their demands they will have to meet to YOURS too. Just cause they're putting all this money into their product doesn't mean, their product doesn't have a few things they will want in return too, for real. And if nothing can come afloat then again, on to the NXT one.

A major's idea of signing an artist is based on how much money can you bring to the table. Seriously, they are strictly about their business. And if you aren't a commodity for them then why are you there (soon or later that artist will get dropped). So an artist needs a marketing strategy and overall mapped out scheme for them to want their product (meaning the artists' music). So, in the wake of an artists lead single it will need to be something that the radio can play, that is catchy, something that will catch MANY people. To rake in back the money they spent on the record for radio, for TV, for advertisement in magazines.

Then last but not least. An artist needs to always understand one thing, if you don't have anything to say, they WHY ARE YOU SAYING ANYTHING! Like seriously, it's cool to have a few tunes on the radio for fun things in life we experience or generally having fun. Then it's back to reality, like seriously. I remember ppl made records that related to EVERYONE not to ppl who HAVE and not to the ones who DONT have, smh. When you make music it shouldn't be just about money, use that though as a scapegoat towards the label. But, always understand that music is about more than materialistic things and more about paper. Cuz that's all money is, only paper, smh. And ppl die over that, ppl "use" their BODY for it, smh... ppl LIE for it, smh. And that's fucked up. And that's a world we live in. If being an artistic/creative/lyrical artist is not talent to you, but one who spews bullshit is called talent, then we all view shit quite differently. And it shows, of the garbage everyone is thrown to listen to, smh. That's all I have to say on this matter, smh.

Oh yea, and this thing about ppl not buying music. But only downloading it. Which is only half true. But is a fact no doubt. But, how I do music personally, if it is worth me buying especially for new artists. I download their music, and if it's worth the $10 then I'll go cop it and pass on the message, real talk. The customer nowadays wants to be sure 100% if what they are buying is worth it, seriously.
